What we read, and what we keep.

This page is written plainly on purpose. It covers the Brightwell client dashboard and the Google accounts a client chooses to connect to it.

What we read from Google

If you are a Brightwell client, your dashboard can show your own Google numbers in one place. To do that, you connect your Google account yourself and choose which accounts we may look at. We then read, and only read:

All three are read only. We do not post, edit or delete anything in your Google accounts. We do not change your Google listing. Google's permission for listings is worded "manage your business listings" — that is Google's wording for the access, not a description of what we do with it.

We only match accounts to the website we already have on file for you. If a property does not match your website, we do not connect it.

What we store, and for how long

When you connect, Google gives us a refresh token. It is a key that lets us ask Google for your numbers again tomorrow without asking you to sign in every day. It is not your password, and it does not let us into your Google account for anything beyond the read-only access listed above.

We store that token encrypted. It is held in an encrypted store, separate from the dashboard, and the website itself cannot read it. We delete it when you ask us to disconnect, and it is deleted automatically if your company record is deleted.

We also store which accounts you picked, when you connected them, and the numbers we read, so the dashboard can show you a history.

How to disconnect

You can stop this at any time, in either of two ways:

Removing our access at Google stops us reading anything new straight away, even before we delete our copy of the token — once you have removed it, the token we hold no longer opens anything. Email us if you also want it deleted from our side, and we will. Either way, the numbers already shown in your dashboard stay in your history unless you ask us to remove those too.

What we do with it

We use your Google data for exactly one thing: to show you your own numbers in your dashboard, and to let your Brightwell team work on your marketing.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with other companies to use for their own purposes. We do not use it to advertise to you, and we do not mix it into anybody else's reporting.
